Karthik received his Ph.D. from Boston University working on computational and neural models of binocular fusion, predictive remapping, and object recognition under Stephen Grossberg and Arash Yazdanbakhsh. In the Desimone Lab, his research work focuses on using electrophysiological, pharmacological, and optogenetic techniques to study the neural mechanisms of attention in non-human primates. Karthik is also interested in questions on neural representations and the development, formation, and functions of cortical maps.
