Beizhen received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Neuroscience in Shanghai, where he studied how the dynamic multi-option value-based decision making is processed in primate superior colliculus using extracellular neurophysiology recording and stimulation in Dr. Michael Dorris’ lab.  With an enduring interest in the cognitive functions, Beizhen joined the Desimone Lab in 2021.  He studies the neural circuit mechanism underlying working memory in marmoset models using technologies combing recording with genetic manipulations (eg. chemogenetic, optogenetics, transgenetic models).
