Reza studied medicine in Iran and got his MD in 2004. From 2000 to 2004, he was also a researcher at the Institute of Physics and Mathematics in Tehran (IPM) where he began his research in cognitive neuroscience. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Roger Tootell lab at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2005 to 2008. Since then, he has been doing his second Post Doc in the Desimone Lab at MIT. Reza is mainly interested in the functional organization of visual cortex, and he is using fMRI to investigate the large-scale organization of visual cortical areas in human and monkey. He is also interested in the evolution of visual cortex and brain homologies.
