Rui Xu is a postdoctoral research scientist in Desimone Lab at MIT. He studies the neural basis of visual cognition in non-human primates and humans, with a focus on the lateral prefrontal cortex and its interactions with other parts of the brain. Previously, he completed one term of postdoctoral training in Tsinghua University, studying the cortical dynamics during object recognition using electrocorticography in epilepsy patients. He earned his PhD in cognitive neuroscience from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his BS in cybernetics from Tsinghua University.
